• Strings 2001 starts on the morning of Friday, January 5, 2001, at 9:30 AM.
• All lectures will be held in the Homi Bhabha Auditorium on the campus of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Navy Nagar (just south of Colaba, in South Mumbai).
• Lectures will end at around 5:30 PM every evening. Morning Tea, lunch, and afternoon Tea will be served on the campus, in the Almond Grove adjacent to the Auditorium. Saturday January 6 and Wednesday January 10 are half-days, when the lectures will conclude at lunchtime.
• Computer facilities including internet access will be available in the Auditorium Foyer throughout the conference.
• On Friday January 5 there will be a Welcome Dinner for the participants and their spouses on the lawns of the Tata Institute, starting at 8.00 PM.
• On Sunday January 7 there will be a Cultural Program of Indian Classical Music at 7.00 PM in the Homi Bhabha Auditorium.
• On Monday January 8, there will be a banquet at The Oberoi Towers starting at 7:30 PM.
• On Wednesday January 10, after the conference concludes, there will be a Special Lecture Program from 3 PM to 6 PM, with talks by David Gross, Edward Witten and Stephen Hawking. These talks will be aimed at an audience of non-specialists.
